Above & Beyond
EDC Las Vegas 2026
Above & Beyond is a British electronic music group formed in 2000. Comprising Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki, and Tony McGuinness, the trio first came together to complete a remix for WEA. Grant and Siljamäki had previously collaborated and launched the influential Anjunabeats label in 1999, releasing early tracks under the Anjunabeats and Free State monikers. McGuinness joined forces with them, leading to the formation of Above & Beyond, a name serendipitously discovered on a motivational trainer's webpage. Initially rooted in trance music, Above & Beyond evolved their sound to incorporate progressive trance, progressive house, and occasionally downtempo and ambient electronic styles. Their career is marked by a signature sound characterized by emotive melodies, powerful vocals, and uplifting arrangements that have resonated with a global fanbase. They have released a substantial body of work and are recognized for their significant contributions to the electronic dance music scene, particularly within the trance and progressive genres.
